Blessed to give than receive

Good morning dear family.

What a wonderful weekend we've had again, praise God for all He continues to do in our midst.

As we begin our week, let me remind us of the immense blessing we have of belonging to the Body of Christ. As we heard yesterday, the moment we become a Christian, we automatically become part of a real, spiritual body - the very family of God. And as we embrace and understand our spiritual family more, we will only enjoy the benefits of belonging to this family more.

Though we may all be different, being Relational means:

1. We develop a sense of Belonging
2. We recognise that we need each other
3. We honour the call of duty we have towards each other
4. We recognise God's design and order in the body, and are willing to flow with it

Three Scriptures that we can meditate on this week, and even perhaps discuss them in our Lifegroups this week are:

Romans 12:4-5 - "Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others."
Galatians 6:10 - "Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith"
John 13:35 - "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

It's interesting to note Jesus saying that more than our love for God and more that our love for the lost, it's our love for one another first that will prove to the world that we truly are His disciples.

It's actually easier sometimes to love God and love the lost more than we can love our own fellow believers. But that's the challenge the Lord has laid before us. Our true faith is demonstrated by the capacity and ability we have to demonstrate love, care and servant-hood to our fellow brothers and sisters whom He has placed us together with.

Let us continue to grow in this area family. Let us become even stronger as a relational people. Doesn't matter if others don't do it - let us each purpose to take the initiative first, to model first, to demonstrate first, to go the extra mile first, and irrespective of what response we might receive in return, all the days of our lives we will continue to do the right thing - Love God and Love others with everything we've got !!!

In the end, we will be blessed. As "It is more blessed to give than to receive".
